Answer:

257.1 cm²

Explanation:

Parallelogram,

Base = 16 cm

Height = 9 cm

Area of Parallelogram = Base x Height

A = 16 x 9

A = 144 cm²

Area of SemiCircle = 1/2 x πr²

Radius = Diameter/2

Radius in this question = 12/2

Radius of both semi circles = 6cm

Area of Semi circle 1 = Area of Semi circle 2

SemiCircle 1 and SemiCircle 2 Area = 1/2 x π(6)²

= 56.54cm² (each SemiCircle)

Both SemiCircles area combined = 56.54 x 2

=113.08 cm²

Area of the whole figure = Area of Parallelogram + Area of both SemiCircles combined

Area of whole figure = 144 + 113.08

= 257.08 cm²

Rounded of to the nearest tenth = 257.1 cm²
