A swimming pool has a perimeter of 96m. The length of the pool is 3 metres more that twice the width. What is the length of the pool?

Explanation:

Given,

Perimeter(p)= 96m

width(w)=?

length(l)= (2×w)+3

= 2w+3

Now,

P=2(l+w)

or, 96/2= 2w+3+w

or, 48-3=3w

or, 45/3=w

or, 15 = w

:. w= 15 m

next,

length= (2×w)+3

=( 2×15 )+3

= 33 m
