24. Mr. Kane keeps track of ticket sales at The Playhouse. The table below shows the tickets sold for afternoon and evening shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each show has the same number of seats available. At the Friday evening show, there were 31 empty seats. How many empty seats were there at one of the other shows?

We know that each show has the same number of seats available. Therefore, we can find the total number of seats by adding up the tickets sold for all six shows and subtracting the 31 empty seats from Friday evening.

Total number of seats = (53 + 94 + 59 + 83 + 64 + 79) - 31

Total number of seats = 402 - 31

Total number of seats = 371

Now we can find the average number of seats per show by dividing the total number of seats by the number of shows.

Average number of seats per show = 371 / 6

Average number of seats per show = 61.83

Since the number of seats must be a whole number, we can round the average number of seats per show to 62.

Therefore, each show has 62 seats available. If there were 31 empty seats at Friday evening's show, then there must have been 62 - 31 = 31 empty seats at one of the other shows.
