5(x+3)=2x-3

we need to isolate x

first solve the parenthesis

5x+15=2x-3

now solve x

\begin{gathered} 5x-2x=-3-15 \\ 3x=-18 \\ x=-(18)/(3) \\ x=-6 \end{gathered}

the value of x is -6
