Read the paragraph below and complete the task.

Elementary students in our school system have always learned cursive handwriting. Recently, the school system decided to stop teaching this subject. Supporters of the plan feel that learning cursive is unnecessary in today's world, since computers are widely available in homes, at school, and in the workplace. While I agree that it is important for young students to learn to use a computer keyboard, I believe there are benefits to learning cursive, as well. Students learn patience when they practice cursive writing. Students who study cursive learn a traditional skill taught to their parents and grandparents. Finally, according to some authorities, students process ideas and thoughts differently when they write than when they type.

Write a one– to two–sentence conclusion appropriate to the purpose and audience of the paragraph.

Answer:

In conclusion, while the decision to stop teaching cursive handwriting may have some valid points, there are also benefits to learning this traditional skill that should not be overlooked, including the development of patience and a unique way of processing ideas and thoughts.
