false It is true that stomata are tiny pores in plants, but these pores are not located underground and they do not facilitate water absorption from the soil. Instead, stomata are located in the leaves of plants and they facilitate gas exchange with the air, including transpiration which is the evaporation of water through stomata. Stomata are opened and closed by the movement of guard cells, which surround the opening of the pores.

Answer: True

Explanation: They are necessary for exchanging gases with the atmosphere. Transpiration (loss of water in the form of water vapour) also takes place through stomata Epidermal cells of the roots, whose function is water absorption, commonly bear long hair-like parts called root hairs, that greatly increase the total absorptive surface area.
