Throughout my life, I have been fortunate enough to have many close friendships. But the one that stands out the most is my best friend from elementary school, Sarah.
Sarah and I met on the first day of kindergarten, and we instantly hit it off. We bonded over our mutual love for playing dress-up and pretending we were princesses. From that day on, we were inseparable.
As we grew older, our friendship only grew stronger. We spent countless afternoons playing games and going on adventures around our neighborhood. We would ride our bikes for hours on end, exploring new areas and imagining we were on grand adventures.
Our friendship changed a bit when we entered middle school. We started to develop our own interests and made new friends, but we still remained close. We were there for each other during the awkward years of middle school and always had each other's backs.
In high school, we both became involved in different extracurricular activities and had less time to spend together. But we made sure to schedule regular hangouts and catch up on each other's lives. We both experienced the ups and downs of high school together and were each other's confidants.
Now, as we're preparing to head off to college, I know our friendship will change again. But I'm confident that no matter what happens, we'll always be there for each other. Sarah is more than just a friend; she's family. Our bond is something that cannot be broken, and I'm grateful to have experienced such a strong and genuine friendship at such a young age.
