Write your equations.
d + q = 15
10d + 25q = 255
Use elimination to get rid of either the d or the q.
-10d -10q = -150
Do the math.
15q = 105
q=7
substitute the q with a 7 in either equations.
d + 7 = 15
d=8
your answer is 8 dimes and 7 quarters.
