Amaya’s mom has struggled with an eating disorder for as long as Amaya can remember. As Amaya enters her teenage years and begins to think more about her own health, what important factor does Amaya need to be aware of?

Amaya may not be able to get access to enough food and may need assistance to get enough.

If a family member struggles with an eating disorder, it puts Amaya at higher risk for one as well.

Eating disorders are not genetic so there is no risk that Amaya will end up like her mom.

A person with an eating disorder might also start to try to control the eating habits of others.

The answer is the 2nd one. Amaya has watched her mother battle an eating disorder which could mean she has picked up her mums eating habits overtime. Eating disorders can also be genetic and often put a healthy person at risk if they have shared genetic factors.
