People often choose not to leave their home countries because they have close ties to their family and community, and leaving would mean leaving behind everything they know and love. Also, economic opportunities in their home country may not be as abundant as they would hope, but at the same time, the risks of leaving for an uncertain future in a foreign land may be too great to bear.
