Answer is 3 ( 1 -2x )

Step by step

3 - 6x is your expression

You want to factor out any number or variable that can be divided into any number or variable in the term

3 is divisible by 3 and 6 is divisible by 3 so 3 goes outside the parentheses

x is NOT divisible in 3 although it is in 6x
It has to work with every part of the term so x cannot be factored out

3 ( )

Now divide the two parts of your term by 3 and put your answer in the parentheses

3/3 - 6x/3

3 ( 1 - 2x )

You can check your work by distribution

3 ( 1 - 2x )

3 - 6x
This was your original expression! Problem solved
