Step 1:
Work out how much 2 loaves of bread was
1.45 x 2 = 2.9
Step 2:
Work out how much 3 cans of soup cost
0.5 x 3 = 1.5
Step 3:
Add up all the prices
1.5 + 2.9 + 2.5 = 6.90
Step 4:
Add the total of the items with the change
6.90 + 3.10 = 10.00
Step 5:
Answer
Heather gave the clerk a $10 bill
