Explanation:

using the cosine and sine ratios in the right triangle and the exact values

cos60° =
(1)/(2) , sin60° =
(√(3) )/(2) , then

cos60° =
(adjacent)/(hypotenuse) =
(x)/(22√(3) ) =
(1)/(2) ( cross- multiply )

2x = 22
√(3) ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 11
√(3)

and

sin60° =
(opposite)/(hypotenuse) =
(y)/(22√(3) ) =
(√(3) )/(2) ( cross- multiply )

2y = 22
√(3) ×
√(3) = 22 × 3 = 66 ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = 33
