A cannon ball is fired horizontally with a velocity of 50m/s from the top of a cliff 90m high. After how many seconds will it strike the plain at the foot of the cliff? At what distance from the foot of the cliff will it strike? With what velocity will it strike the ground?

Answer: The cannon ball will hit the floor after 4.24 seconds. It will strike at a distance of 212m from the foot of cliff. As the object is travelling with the zero acceleration due to horizontal movement its final velocity will be 50m/s.
