Looking at the map, what ideas do you have about why the trash is "trapped" in this location?

Due to the tides & current, it keeps the waste/garbage contained into a certain region instead of it dispersing

Answer: Due to the circulation of the wind and water the trash will continue to go around in a circle thus causing it to be trapped there.
