Figurative Language- Is a general term for using a word in a way different from its normal use. One example :The sun smiled. That’s personification, making something act like a human, one example of figurative language.

Repeated Words- Used often to add a dramatic effect, repeated words is when something is written along the lines of, ‘Oh, oh!’ Or, ‘You, you!’ Its to give an effect

Change in setting- setting refers to time and location, so a change of setting is either a time jump or location swap. (Not official terminology)

Dialogue - Anything in “ marks,

Ex. “Hi there! I’m speaking, which is why there are quote marks around this sentence!”

Actions- anything you do. Running, reading, writing, listening, staring

Word Choice- word choice can be shown in the use of effect vs affect. Effect is a noun, and affect is and a verb, same sound, different use per sentence!
