Explanation:

This figure is made up of a cone and a semi sphere. Let's find the area of the cone

Volume of a cone

(1)/(3) \pi {r}^(2) h

The height is 34 cm.

The radius is half the diameter of the sphere ,

this the radius is 14

(1)/(3) \pi( {14}^(2) )(34)

Hint: Do not round mid calculations, only when you are done.

Volume of the semi sphere is

(1)/(2) ( (4)/(3) \pi {r}^(3) )

The radius is 14

(1)/(2) ( (4)/(3) \pi(14) {}^(3) )

Add both areas

(1)/(3) \pi( {14}^(2) )(34) + (2)/(3) \pi(14) {}^(3)

Use 3.14 for pi

Which gives us

12719 to the nearest whole number
