The totall bill for luch was $25.98

One of the 5 friends needed to pay $1.10

The other 4 ordered the same special, which means that their meals costed the same.

Let x represent the cost of the daily special. If you multiply it by four you'll get the amount the 4 firends paid together. → Symbolically: 4x

Also if you subtract the price of the soda from the total, you'll get the corst of the 4 specials together: $25.98 - $1.10=$24.88

The four specials togheter cost $24.88, express it as en equation:

\begin{gathered} 4x=24.88 \\ x=(24.88)/(4) \\ x=6.22 \end{gathered}

Each friend had to pay $6.22 for the daily special
