A new invention could make most lamps in people's homes things of the past. The invention is a machine that prints paper-thin sheets of light. The machine, which is about the size of a semi-truck trailer, was developed by General Electric Company (GE). First, the machine coats a plastic sheet with chemicals. Next, the machine seals the sheet with a thin layer of metal. Then, electricity goes through the metal. The sheet changes the electricity to light. It gives off a blue-white glow. GE says that making the sheets is easy. They are flexible and could be cut to many sizes. Experts are already predicting what can be made with the sheets
