Answer is c= 41
Step by step
Since this is a right triangle we can use Pythagorean Theorem a^2 + b^2 = c^2
We know a= 9cm and b= 40cm
We are looking for c or the hypotenuse
9^2 + 40^2 = c^2
81 + 1600 = c^2
1681 = c^2
√1681 = √c^2
41 = c
