I just answered this. how often did you post that ?

because they are parallel, we have similar triangles with one common scale factor for all correlating pairs of sides.

therefore, e.g.

EC/DB = AE/AD

8/4 = x/6

2 = x/6

x = 12

AC = AE + EC = 12 + 8 = 20
