Given:-

  • A figure made up of a right angled triangle and rectangle.

To find:-

  • The perimeter and the area of the figure.

Answer:-

The given figure is made up of two parts . Part 1 is a rectangle and Part 2 is a triangle. The area of the whole figure will the sum of the areas of the rectangle and the triangle.

And perimeter is simply the sum of all the side lengths of any figure. So here , perimeter (P) , will be;

P = 6cm + 7cm + 6.5cm + 9.5cm

P = 13cm + 16cm

P = 29cm

Again, it area , would be,

Area = ar(rectangle) + ar(triangle)

Area = 6cm * 7cm + 1/2 * (9.5-7)cm * 6cm

Area = 42cm² + 3cm * 2.5cm = 42cm² + 7.5cm²

Area = 49.5 cm²

Hence the area of the given figure is 49.5cm²

and we are done!
