3x+2y=12

A. How can you get equal coefficients for the x-terms?


B. Multiply the top equation by 2.

Answer:The equations we have are:

3x + 2y = 12 ...(1)

6x + 3y = 21 ...(2)

To make the coefficient of x equal we can multiply both sides of (1) by 2

2(3x + 2y) = 2*12

=> 6x + 4y = 24

The correct answer is option B.
