x-intercept

The intersection at x is when y = 0, so we substitute y = 0 into the equation and solve for x:

\begin{gathered} 4.7x-7.5(0)-7.7=0 \\ 4.7x-7.7=0 \\ 4.7x-7.7+7.7=0+7.7 \\ 4.7x=7.7 \\ (4.7x)/(4.7)=(7.7)/(4.7) \\ x=1.64 \end{gathered}

y-intercept

It is when x = 0, therefore:

4.7(0)-7.5y-7.7=0

And solve for y:

\begin{gathered} -7.5y-7.7=0 \\ -7.5y-7.7+7.7=0+7.7 \\ -7.5y=7.7 \\ (-7.5y)/(-7.5)=(7.7)/(-7.5) \\ y=-1.03 \end{gathered}

Answer:

x-intercept = 1.64

y-interceot = - 1.03
