We have to evaluate this expression:

5(x-3)^2-7

for x = 5.

We replace x with 5 and calculate:

\begin{gathered} 5(5-3)^2-7 \\ 5(2)^2-7 \\ 5(4)-7 \\ 20-7 \\ 13 \end{gathered}

Answer: the expression has a value of 13 when x = 5.
