I'm confused : when you solve this equation A=1/2h(B+b) it gives youB= 2A/h-b because you canceled the h that was on the denominator and left over with -b.

for this equation: S= 2brh+2br^2 which gives you: h=S-2br^2 divided by 2br why we didn't simply by cancelling 2br and have as a result h= s/2br-r

Answer:

Explanation:

When simplifying the equation S = 2brh + 2br^2 to solve for h, we need to isolate the variable h on one side of the equation.

First, we can factor out h on the right side: S = h(2br + 2r^2)

Then, we can divide both sides by the factor (2br + 2r^2):

S / (2br + 2r^2) = h

We cannot simply cancel out the 2br term in the denominator because it is also a factor of the numerator. Therefore, we need to use the distributive property to factor out the 2r from the denominator:

S / 2r(b + r) = h

This is the simplified equation for h.
