Given fraction:

- \sqrt{(1)/(36) }

To avoid confusion of the "-", we can include a parenthesis:

- \huge\text{(} \sqrt{(1)/(36) } \hude\text{)}

Some fractions can also be perfect squares as it can be written as the same number multiplying by itself two times. 1/4 is a perfect square because it is equivalent to 1/2 × 1/2. In the image shown, 1/36 is a perfect square of 1/6 because it can be written as 1/36 = 1/6 × 1/6.

- \huge\text{(} \sqrt{(1)/(6) * (1)/(6) } \hude\text{)}

Exponent/Square Root Policy: √(x²) = √(x × x) = x

- \huge\text{(} {(1)/(6) } \hude\text{)}

Distribute the negative sign and simplify:

{(-1)/(6) }

Therefore, the solution to the square root is -1/6.

-\sqrt{\cfrac{1}{36}}\implies -\cfrac{√(1)}{√(36)}\implies -\cfrac{1}{6}
