Answer:

Perimeter of given rectangle: 114

Perimeter of dilated rectangle: 38

Area of given rectangle: 810

Area of dilated rectangle: 90

Explanation:

We have the given rectangle with 27 width and 30 length

then the dilated rectangle with 1/3 factor will be 27/3 = 9 width and 30/3 = 10 length

Perimeter of given rectangle

P = 2(l + w) = 2(27 + 30) = 114

Perimeter of dilated rectangle

P = 2(l + w) = 2(9 + 10) = 38

Area of given rectangle

A = lw = 27 x 30 = 810

Area of dilated rectangle

A = lw = 9 x 10 = 90

Alright what you do here is multiply the measurements for the given rectangle by the scale factor of 1/3 to give you the measurements of the dilated rectangle :) took me a bit too but once you’ve got the measurements this is just a regular area and perimeter problem.
Multiplying 30•1/3=10 and 27•1/3=9 so these are the measurements for the dilated rectangle.
To find the perimeter of the given rec. you add 30+27+30+27=114 units.
To find the perimeter of the dilated rec. you add 10+9+10+9=38 units.
To find the area of the given rec. you multiply 30•27=810 units.
To find the area of the dilated rec. you multiply 10•9=90 units.
Hope this helps :)
