In the Chapter in Sophie's World (#6) the question of foreseeing the future is broached. It starts off with Sophie being asked three questions, the first of which is "Do you believe in Fate?" After reading the chapter, and recalling the view that "Fatalism is the belief that whatever happens is predestined," There is on page 54 a comment on the "fortune teller" which is followed beginning on paragraph 7 the discussion of the Oracle of Delphi. Please write you comment on the Greek psychic pronouncements of the Pithia (the priestess ) as they worked in Greek society. Pages 54-5. Comment specifically on the word "influenza" which originally meant a "malign [bad] influence from the stars. "
