so first set up the equation:
(8x+1)=(9x-4)
and solve for x, you then get x=5
then plug in x to one of them
im gonna use 8(5)+1 thus you get 41
then 180-41= 139 thats y

Answer:

x = 5, y = 139

Explanation:

So we make an equation:

(8x + 1) + (9x - 4) + y + y, we got the other y because they are Alternate exterior angles.

We also know that (8x + 1) = (9x - 4)

So it would be 5 = x

Now we plug in the values to in (8x + 1) + (9x - 4) + y + y to get:

41 + 41 + y + y = 360

Now we subtract 82 from both sides and get 2y = 278, so y = 139

Hope this helps!!
