Answer:

x = 2

Explanation:

In similarity polygons, the corresponding sides are in same proportion.

(RP)/(VZ) = (MP)/(WZ)\\\\(3x-1)/(4) =(8x -1)/(12)\\\\\\Cross \ multiply,\\\\12*(3x -1) = 4*(8x - 1)

12*3x - 12*1 = 4 *8x - 4*1 {Distributive property}

36x - 12 = 32x - 4

Add 12 to both sides,

36x = 32x - 4 + 12

36x = 32x + 8

Subtract 32x from both sides,

36x -32x = 8

4x = 8

Divide both sides by 4,

x = 8 ÷ 4

x = 2
