1)Think of a common problem with pronunciation that you have observed in your students.

Or, if you are not teaching either:
- think of a pronunciation problem commonly experienced by native speakers of your own language (if you are a non-native speaker )

-think of a problem that you have experienced (if you are a native speaker of English) when learning a foreign language

2)Explain the problem clearly and specify the native lanuage and the foreign language.
Then suggest an activity which could be used in class to address this problem area.

Answer:

Listed below

Step-by-step explanation:

I am not a professional teacher, but I have noticed a few things when teaching Egyptian children English:

  • They tend to pronounce 'th' with 'z' or 'f'. For example: "The boy thinks about food." is pronounced: "Za boy fink about food."
  • Another problem is that they use 'ing'- even when it isn't needed: "He ran." Is commonly confused for "He running."

A problem that I experience while learning Arabic is that it can be difficult to follow the Verb-Subject-Object sentence structure.

  • "Reads the teacher the book." Is an example sentence for how they talk.

An activity to help children learn the VSO or SVO sentence structure would be to teach the children what a verb is …etc., and have then re-arrange the words in the right order on a white board, or even on the floor.
