Ethan rode his bicycle to his friend Sasha’s house, and then Ethan rode his bicycle to the library. The graph shows Ethan’s distance from Sasha’s house as a function of time. How many miles did Ethan ride?

We have to calculate the distance Ethan has ridden.

We have a graph that reflects the distance from Sashas's house. From the graph we can see that:

- Ethan's house is 12 miles from Sasha's house, as at time t=0, when Ethan is starting from his house, he is 12 miles from Sasha's house.

- The library is 12 miles from Sasha's house. In the second part of the trip, when Ethan rides to the library, he is 12 miles from Sasha's house when he gets there.

Then, we have two trips: 1) from Ethan's house to Sasha's house (12 miles), and 2) from Sasha's house to the library (another 12 miles).

Then, adding the distances from the 2 trips:

D=12+12=24\text{ miles}

Answer: Ethan has ridden 24 miles.
