Split into three equations
2^2x=0; 2^x=0; 2^x+4=0
Add 2 to both sides
2^x=2^1 ; 2^x+4=0
Equate exponent of 2 on both sides
X=1; 2^x=-4
Subtract 4 from both sides
Solution
X=1
