since the chords are congruent the arcs that subtend them are both congruent, in this case both x

the sum of the arcs in a circle = 360° , then

2x + 42° + 108° = 360°

2x + 150° = 360° ( subtract 150° from both sides )

2x = 210° ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 105°
