The narration in this excerpt reveals that Okonkwo...
Select one:
O does not believe he has done anything wrong and does not
understand why other people are angry.
O knows that he has done wrong but is too stubborn or afraid to
admit it to the village.
O is able and willing to voice his apologies and regrets to everyone
in the village.
O feels that he has already shown he is sorry enough.

The story:

The excerpt below from Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe describes the
customs of the ibo people of Southeast Nigeria, a country in Africa. It
focuses on Okonkwo, a clan member, who is known as one of the
strongest and most respected men. In the excerpt, it is the Week of Peace,
a week when all people celebrate and practice nonviolence to honor their
gods before the harvest of their primary crop, yams. This year, Okonkwo
has broken the rules of the Week of Peace by beating his wife. His
punishment is to make a-sacrified of money, livestock, and other goods to
the gods.
Okonkwo did as the priest said. He also took with him a pot of palm-wine.
Inwardly, he was repentant". But he was not the man to go about telling
his neighbors that he was in error. And so people said he had no respect
for the gods of the clan. His enemies said his good fortune had gone to
his head. They called him the little bird nza who so far forgot himself after
a heavy meal that he challenged his chi."
No work was done during the Week of Peace. People called on their
neighbors and drank palm-wine. This year they talked of nothing else but
the nso-ani which Okonkwo had committed. It was the first time for many
years that a man had broken the sacred peace. Even the oldest men could
only remember one or two other occasions somewhere in the dum past.

Answer: I would go with "O knows that he has done wrong but is too stubborn or afraid to admit it to the village."

Step-by-step explanation:

This is just based off of what you provided and it seems like its the best answer choice would be B, because of the fact that he was "inwardly repentant" but did not want to show that to the village. Is he necessarily stubborn or afraid to? I don't know, but the other choices don't seem to be as good of a choice.
