Answer: Billie Holiday

Born April 7th, 1915 in philadelphia

she was primarily raised by her mother, but bonded with her father over music. she was born to teen parents, and also grew up with little to no stability in her family. the family was poor.(Cant add some things to this due to guidelines)

Billie holiday went to school up until 5th grade. thats when she dropped out and started running errands for a brothel.

she won 5 grammys and was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame in 2000, and the jazz hall of fame in 2004

she made African Americans in media more normalized and mainstream. she also helped popularize jazz
