Rearranging the equation:


y = -8

Three points to be considered:

1. Above is a horizontal line cutting through the y-axis at y value of
-8.
2. A horizontal line has a slope (or gradient) of 0.
3. Parallel lines have the same slope (or gradient)


∴The straight line passing through (2, 1) will also have a zero slope. In addition, this is a horizontal line, which cuts the y-axis at y value of 1.
