Answer:

(This is half of the questions more will be done)

Explanation:

1) The Answer is 12, based on the given conditions, formulate: 48x(5-3)÷(3+5)

2) The Answer is 24:36, (2/3)=0.66667=x/y

x+y=60

x=60-y

(60/y)-1=2/3

60/y=5/3

y=36

x+36=60

x=24

24:36

3) The Answer is 36, based on the given conditions, formulate: 24x (2+1)÷2

4) The Answer is 32.40, Represent the amounts as a ratio:

Since Andy receives the least, let his amount be 1

Ben's amount is 3 times Andy's, so this will be 3

Claire's amount is 2 times Ben's so this will be 6

So we have: 1:3:6

5) The Answer is 18:12, B = no. of blue marbles (18)

R = no. of red marbles (12)

The ratio should be expressed as follows:

B:R or B/R

18:12 or 18/12

However, in SIMPLEST FORM, the numbers need to be REDUCED by the GCF that they share (i.e. the 2 numbers must be divided by the LARGEST factor (6) that divides evenly into both 12 and 18).

(18/6):(12/6) or (18/6) / (18/12)
