Answer:

h = 4.61577 cm

b = 21.23 cm

Explanation:

Area = 1/2bh

b = 2h + 12

Area = 1/2(2h + 12)h = 49

1/2(2h² + 12h) = 49

h² + 6h - 49 = 0 use the quadratic equation to find the non-negative solution of h (a=1, b=6, c=-49)

h = 4.61577

b = 2(4.61577) + 12 = 21.23

check answers for correctness: A = 1/2(21.23)(4.61577) = 49 correct!
