I was trying to figure out the question that said, Sharon is working her way through school. She works two part-time jobs for a total of 34

hours a week. Job A pays $6.20
per hour, and Job B pays $7.20
per hour. How many hours did she work at each job the week that she made $227.80.
.x+y=34
6.20x+7.20y =227.80

x+y=34\implies y=34-x \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ 6.20+7.20y=227.80\implies \stackrel{\textit{substituting from 1st equation}}{6.2x+7.2(34-x)~~ = ~~227.8} \\\\\\ 6.2x+244.8-7.2x=227.8\implies 244.8-1x=227.8 \\\\\\ 244.8=x+227.8\implies \stackrel{ Job~A }{\boxed{17=x}}\hspace{5em}\underset{ 34~~ - ~~17 }{\stackrel{ Job~B }{\boxed{y=17}}}
