SOLUTION

From the points

\begin{gathered} (4,\text{ 6) and (-2, 3)} \\ x1=4,x2=-2 \\ y1=6,y2=3 \\ \end{gathered}

Using the formula

\begin{gathered} (y-y1)/(x-x1)=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) \\ \\ We\text{ have } \\ (y-6)/(x-4)=(3-6)/(-2-4) \\ \\ (y-6)/(x-4)=(-3)/(-6) \\ \\ (y-6)/(x-4)=(1)/(2) \\ \\ 2(y-6)=x-4 \\ 2y-12=x-4 \\ 2y=x-4+12 \\ 2y=x+8 \\ y=(x)/(2)+4 \\ y=(1)/(2)x+4 \end{gathered}
