Title: Stranded in the Flood

Characters:

JASON: A 25-year-old man who is stuck in the flood

LISA: Jason’s sister who is trying to help him escape the flood

RESCUER: A rescue worker who is trying to help people escape the flood

Act 1:

(We see JASON standing on the roof of his house, looking out at the floodwaters that surround him. He is shouting for help.)

JASON: Help! Is anyone out there? I’m stuck here!

(LISA enters the scene, carrying a life jacket.)

LISA: Jason! I’m here!

JASON: Lisa! Thank god you’re here! How did you find me?

LISA: I heard you shouting from the road. I’ve brought a life jacket. Put it on and we’ll try to get you out of here.

JASON: Okay, let’s do it.

(They try to leave the roof, but the floodwaters are too high.)

JASON: It’s no use. We can’t get through.

LISA: (looking around) There must be another way out.

(They start to look around for a way to escape. Suddenly, they hear a loudspeaker.)

RESCUER: Attention all flood victims! Please make your way to the riverbank. Rescue workers are on their way to help you.

LISA: Come on, let’s go!

JASON: (hesitant) But what about our house? Our belongings?

LISA: Our lives are more important. We can’t stay here any longer.

(They make their way to the riverbank, where they see several rescue workers in boats.)

RESCUER: (calling out) Hey you two! Are you okay?

JASON: (relieved) Yes, we’re okay. We’ve been stuck on the roof of our house for hours.

RESCUER: (nodding) I see. Well, you’re safe now. Hop on the boat and we’ll take you to safety.

LISA: (grateful) Thank you so much!

JASON: (smiling) You guys are lifesavers.

Act 2:

(The boat takes JASON and LISA to a nearby shelter where they are given food, water, and a place to rest. They are also given clothes to wear as their old ones are soaked through.)

LISA: (sighing) I can’t believe this happened.

JASON: (agreeing) Yeah, it’s been a crazy day.

LISA: (curious) Do you think our house will be okay?

JASON: (uncertain) I don’t know. But I’m just glad we made it out alive.

(They both sit in silence for a few moments.)

LISA: (breaking the silence) Thank god for those rescue workers.

JASON: (nodding) Yeah, they really are heroes.

LISA: (grateful) We’re lucky to be alive. I’m just glad we made it out.

JASON: (smiling) Me too, sis. Me too.

(They sit in silence for a few more moments, grateful for their safety.)

The End.
