What might an increasing number of shallow earthquakes under a volcano indicate?

Answer:

Shallow earthquakes (about 2 km (1.2 miles) or shallower) can be a sign that magma is moving inside the volcano and closer to the ground surface. The closer magma is to the surface, the more likely it is than an eruption may occur soon.
