3/1-1/4 is in the bracket hence we'll simplify it first according to BODMAS/PEDMAS so we will make the denominators the same, since 3 has the denominator of 1, we'll multiply one by 4 to make the denominators the same and since we multiplied the denominator with 4 we must multiply the numerator with 4 as well so we'll get (12-1/4) which is equal to 11/4

now since you solved the bracket, add this to 2/3 and this will get the - sign as it was outside the bracket so -11/4+2/3

=-25/12

next, we'll finally subtract 5/8 from -25/12

=-1 11/24 and that's the answer
