Explanation:

Seeing 27.6x means Liam can drive for 27.6 miles for one gallon

On the table we show Johnathons. The smallest is 5gallons for 108miles. But we want 1 gallon. Divide the 5 by 5, you get one

5/5 = 1.

Now we do the same for the miles

108/5= 21.6

Since Liam does 27.6, and Johnathon does 21.6, that means Liam can drive 6 more miles per gallon
