In this number sentence, both triangles represent the same number. 32 - (triangle) = (triangle) - 8. What number do the triangles represent?

Solution:

Let triangle be x

32 - x = x - 8 (add 8 on both sides)

40 - x = x (add x on both sides)

40 = 2x (divide by 2 on both sides )

40/2 = 2x/2

x = 20

Answer : The triangles represent the number 20
