The monomer used to build polypeptides/proteins are amino acids.
In the amino acid diagram photo, the molecules are:
Left: NH2 = Amino group
Up: Hydrogen atom
Bottom: R variable group
Right = Carboxyl group
Middle = Central carbon atom
