How did the treaty of versailles affect the german economy?

Answer:

The Treaty of Versailles crippled the German economy. Germany was essentially blamed the war and so they had to take on large amounts of debt to pay for it. Germany did not finish paying off its WW1 debts until 2010. Germany tried to pay its debts by printing more money which just caused intense inflation. Germany was also forced to give up its colonies and give land to countries like France and Poland.
