the sum of the 3 angles in Δ ACD = 180° , that is

x + y + 97° = 180°

x + 43° + 97° = 180°

x + 140° = 180° ( subtract 140° from both sides )

x = 40°

then

x = 40° , y = 43° , z = 97°
